Industrial Oil Chillers & Fluid Chillers
Maximize Productivity with Lower Costs
GCI Industrial Refrigeration has introduced a new series of package industrial oil chillers and fluid chillers for use with thermal fluids. These industrial oil chillers, designated the DHT series, are specially modified versions of our DH series Icewagonâ„¢ chillers designed to handle the unique characteristics of these specialized heat transfer fluids.
Industrial Oil Chillers and Fluid Chillers Applications
Industrial oil chillers and fluid chillers are used to cool discrete manufacturing and process equipment by refrigerating coolants used in the operation of the equipment. The use of a thermal fluid as the coolant can reduce the investment in the process as well as reduce operating costs. Industrial oil chillers and fluid chillers allow broad operating temperature ranges and uniform heat transfer while also reducing the amount of coolant used.
Often, however, these fluids possess characteristics such as flammability, corrosiveness, extremely low viscosity, and toxicity which can adversely affect the evaporator, process pump, tank, and piping of an industrial oil chiller. Performance can be reduced. Materials used in the component construction may react to the chemical structure of the fluid. For example, use of fluids such Syltherm® require that no threaded fittings or mechanical seals be present, and that no copper be used. Petroleum-based thermal fluids may limit the use of plastic.
In many cases, the temperature range of the coolant is broad that it can preclude the use of a standard industrial oil chiller. In other cases, the fluid chillers may also be called upon to function as a fluid heater to limit capital investment.
How To Order
How to Order Icewagon Chillers
- Determine the preferred medium of cooling, Air or Water.

Features of Industrial Oil Chillers and Fluid Chillers
New DHT package industrial oil chillers and fluid chillers from GCI are designed to handle these unique requirements without long lead-times, special engineering, or excessive costs. GCI has developed designs which allow the company to modify the basic DH series industrial oil chiller design to accommodate the requirements of the particular fluid.
These may include use of sealless pumps, leak-free coolant circuits and piping system materials which are fully compatible with the coolant. DHT industrial oil chillers and fluid chillers can be equipped with heaters, auxiliary coolant circuits, and external loops.
